Welcome to Entrepreneurship
This program runs seven weeks. Six weeks of real, practical work — Weeks 1 through 6 — each built around one core skill you'll actually use when starting something. Week 7 is a live, tutor-assessed final: you'll pitch what you've built.
Twice a week, you'll have a live 1-on-1 session with your tutor, 60–90 minutes each. Those sessions are not lectures — your tutor already knows what you've read and worked through on the platform that week, and won't re-explain it to you line by line. Instead, expect to be asked questions, pushed on your assumptions, and walked through applying that week's concept to something real you're actually working on. Come ready to talk, not just listen.
Why we start with the problem, not the idea
In 2024, CB Insights re-ran its startup post-mortem analysis across 431 failed venture-backed companies. The single biggest reason startups die, cited in 43% of cases: no real market need. Not bad execution, not bad luck — they built something nobody was actually asking for.
That number is why this entire first week is about the problem, not the solution. Before you design a business model, build anything, or think about pricing, you need to be able to name — specifically, not vaguely — who has a real problem, how you know it's real, and why they'd pay to have it solved.
What Week 1 covers
- What actually makes a problem "worth solving" (not just annoying)
- How to validate a problem is real before you build anything — using real interviews, not guesses
- The Mom Test: the difference between an interview that tells you the truth and one that just makes you feel good
- What an MVP actually is, and the most common way people get it wrong
- A real case study — Airbnb's actual first three customers, and what the founders did (and didn't) build to test their idea
By the end of this week, you'll have picked a real problem, run it through a validation framework, and be ready to actually go talk to people about it in Week 2.
